Meridionale Alcolici s.r.l.- (I.M.A.
srl) placed in Trapani, near the harbour, is unique because of its
position in the center of Mediterranean Sea, the only shipping
lane for vessels coming from the Black Sea heading to the Strait of
Gibraltar or vice versa. Since it is accredited by the Ministry of
Navigation as a coast wharehouse, it is designated on navigational maps.
Its peculiarity consists in having a tank terminal for alcohol storage, made
up of 20 tanks with an overall capacity of 30.000 mc, each of them made of
stainless steel, linked to the Port quay
by two pipelines, in conjunction with the only plant in Italy
for the production of absolute alcohol
(fuel alcohol) at
99,9% using molecular sieves. The plant has a daily capacity of 300.000
anhydrous liters, and is able to produce anhydrous alcohol, almost devoid of water,
perfect additive to the gasoline pool, so-called bioethanol.
 The
20 tanks are provided with individual pumps and
lines, each of them connected to the two existing pipelines,
the former dedicated to the transfer of alimentary liquids, in "pead", the
latter, made of
steel, used for the loading/unloading of industrial
products. All the tanks are provided with a cooling and foaming system, as
well as nitrogen sparging.
Products
can be easily loaded/unloaded into ships through those pipelines, with a
300 mc/hour pumping capacity. Clays can house ships 200 mts long,
with a draught of 8 mts depth. Those

wharehouse works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, holidays included.
The I.M.A. srl may provide, on request, other than all services written
above, even ship brokarage, using preferred channels.
